Please browse this list for a vet near you, however please note this list is for information only. The BAVH does not necessarily endorse the following practioners, nor does listing necessarily imply expertise in this field. Please contact the practices below for further information.
Thinking of treating your animals yourself?
A surprising number of herbal preparations are available over-the-counter these days in health food stores and pharmacies, as well as online. The BAVH does not recommend self-prescribing of herbal medicines to companion animals as at best they may be ineffective and at worst they may be dangerous. Many substances deemed safe in humans may be toxic or even fatal to other species e.g. tea tree oil can be highly toxic to cats. Furthermore the overharvesting of some species of wild herbs has occurred, leading to them becoming endangered or even extinct in the wild. The BAVH will only endorse companies that ethically source their herbal products and will continue to promote the conservation of wild herbs and the use of ethical farming methods.
